Russia and Morocco signed an agreement on cooperation in marine fisheries

The Russian government approved a draft agreement with the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco on Cooperation in the field of marine fisheries.
In accordance with the decree of January 15, 2010 N 5 Rosrybolovstva to hold negotiations with the Moroccan side, and on reaching an agreement to sign the agreement on behalf of the Government.
The Agreement sets out the principles of cooperation between Morocco and the Russian Federation in the field of conservation and utilization of marine living resources of the exclusive economic zones of Morocco and determine the conditions of the fishing activities of vessels flying the flag of Russia, in Atlantic Moroccan EEZ. Duration of agreement - 3 years.
As the RIA Fishnews.ru, in particular, the agreement stipulates that the Russian ships, with appropriate permissions, can lead in Atlantic EEZ of Morocco fishing cardiny, pilchards, mackerel, horse mackerel, sword fish, the anchovy. The permitted catch quotas for the first year of the agreement is set in the amount of 120 thousand tons of small pelagic fish species. Fishing in the Atlantic fishing zone of Morocco can not more than 12 fishing vessels.
To monitor the implementation of the agreement and resolve any contentious issues created a mixed commission, which meets once a year. Agreement shall be provisionally applied from January 15, 2010 and shall come into force from the date of the last written notification confirming the fulfillment by the parties the necessary domestic procedures.

On the development of quotas of living aquatic resources by Russian users

Total from January 1 this year, catches of aquatic biological resources Russian fisheries management organizations amounted to 121,3 thousand tons, up 32.4 thousand tons more than in the past year. Percentage mastering the total allowable catch of 3.1%, as compared to the same period last year increased by 36,4%.
The Far Eastern basin. The total catch of 95.6 tonnes, more than in the past year to 30.2 thousand tons. The development was 3,2%.
All objects in the Bering Sea fishery caught 9.4 thousand tons. The development was 1,3% of the total quota, which is 9.2 thousand tons less than last year's level due to poor fishing conditions for walleye pollock (- 10,3 thousand tons).
All the objects of fishing in the Okhotsk Sea caught 83.4 tons. The development was 5,3% of the total quota, which is 38,9 thousand tons more than in the past year.
Nord Pool. The total catch of 8.5 tonnes, higher than the level last year at 3.7 tonnes. Mastering is 1,7% of the total quota.
Azov-Black Sea basin. The total catch of water biological resources of 0.9 tonnes. The development of 0,6%, which is by 0,6 thousand tons more than in the past year. Catches of anchovy is 0,9 thousand tons, up 0.6 thousand tons more than last year's level.
Caspian basin. The total catch of water biological resources of 0.2 tonnes. The development was 0.05%, up 0.1 thousand tons more than in the past year.
Zones of foreign states. The development of catch quotas for living aquatic resources in the areas of foreign countries amounted to 15,7 thousand tons, down from last year's level at 1.5 tonnes of blue whiting for underexpenditure Zone Farer (- 7,4 thousand tons) and mackerel in the Zone Morocco (- 3,7 thousand tons).
Convention areas and the open part of the oceans. The development of catch quotas for living aquatic resources in these areas amounted to 0.3 thousand tons, that is less than last year at 0.2 tonnes.
